to analyze the Interchange 1 textbook versus new high school textbook (Vision1)
from teachers’ perspective.
Interchange 1 taught in different institutes and Vision1 textbook taught in
Iranian high school at tenth grade. This was done with the aim of finding the
weak and strong points of Interchange 1 textbook and Vision 1 textbook from
teachers’ points of view. In so doing, a total of 42 Iranian EFL teachers
were participated in the study. They were asked to respond Al-Amri’s (2008) questionnaire which includes several items related to
different aspects of textbooks namely. Conclusions are drawn to answer the
following questions.

1)  Is there any significant
relationship between general appearance of new high school textbook (Vision1)
and Interchange1?

2) Is there any significant relationship between design and
illustration of new high school textbook (Vision1) and Interchange1?

3) Is there any significant relationship between accompanying
materials of new high school textbook (Vision1) and Interchange1?

4) Is there any significant relationship between language contents
of new high school textbook (Vision1) and Interchange1?

To answer the first question, the obtained results showed that
there was no significant relationship between general appearance of Interchange
1 and Vision 1 textbooks. Teachers were more satisfied with Interchange 1
textbook. So, Vision 1 textbook needed to change and improve in this part
specially, regarding to cover of textbook. Also, it lacks in bibliography of
textbook. Regarding to second research question the results showed that there
was no significant relationship between design and illustration of Interchange
1 textbook and Vision 1 textbook. This new high school textbook (Vision 1) had
some flaw in this part of the questionnaire to stimulate students’ creativity.
But, Interchange 1 textbook had attractive, functional and variety in
illustrations and design part of textbook. Just there were a little flaw in
visualization without imposing visual images and students ‘creativity. However,
teachers’ were more satisfied with Interchange 1 textbook.
