Vaibhav Gupta is a senior undergraduate at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi majoring in Mathematics and Computing. I have had the pleasure of teaching him in two courses viz. Design for User Experience and Social Immersion.
I was thoroughly impressed with his ability to be articulate about design concepts, his sensitivity to the nuances which distinguish a good design from a bad one, and his passion for examining, ideating and experimenting design around us – both in and out of the classroom. Vaibhav is a talented student with an eye of good design which is quite rare for a mathematics major, and he has my highest recommendation as a student and a future designer.Vaibhav demonstrated tremendous effort and it was amazing the pace with which he picked up the design concepts. He has produced some very good designs as a part of his coursework for Design for User Experience.
His ability to apply the concepts taught in class to designs was quite extraordinary. In one of his assignments, he designed prototypes for website with the goal of making them more usable for users belonging to a persona, and his work was on par with the design students. He came up with many interesting topics during classroom discussions, and having an engineering major in a class full of design students was quite worthwhile. When called upon to give his final presentation in front of his peers, Vaibhav spoke clearly and eloquently about his design and responded to questions in a thoughtful way. Vaibhav has also been an integral part of the Dramatics Society at IIT Delhi, which I oversaw as the President of BRCA (Board for Recreational and Creative Activities). I’m certain that Vaibhav is going to continue to do creative things in his future. I highly recommend him for admission to your Master’s program.
He is talented, intuitive, dedicated, and focused in his pursuits. He continuously seeks out constructive feedback so he can improve. Vaibhav is truly a stand-out individual who will impress everyone he meets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at
