The make the world of health care run more

The National Guideline Clearinghouse is a database used primarily for the sole purpose of providing evidence-based clinical guidelines and other types of documents to the prospective online users searching for information that pertains to them. It is mainly run by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and it is updated continuously. The National Guideline Clearinghouse is a public site where one can simply look through summaries, compare, and exchange guidelines that have been provided and checked within the database. Some of the people that use the database include physicians, Health Care Organizations, employers, and state and local governments. These however, are just a few of the many that use the services the National Guideline Clearinghouse provides. For instance, the National Guideline Clearinghouse is used to help physicians make clinical decisions, while another example could include information and guidelines being exchanged by Health Care Organizations to make future decisions pertaining to their organization. Other reasons for using the database could include but are not limited to the assistance in making purchasing decisions, quality assurance, access and education purposes. That being said, the National Guideline Clearinghouse has strict standards set into place that must be met before any clinical guidelines are to be considered. A few of these standards include that any guideline submitted must be reviewed and be the most recent version, they must also be provided with recommendations, and be produced by a relevant organization. Although these are only a few of the standards needed it gives us an overview of how extensive and important these guidelines are. That said, the National Guideline Clearinghouse is providing the necessary resources to make the world of health care run more smooth.
