I have completed
the diagnostic survey and scored the 444 out of 510 and according to that score
list, I m lying in the top quartile. But by doing so, I found some of my
weakness that I would like to improve for enhancing my management skills. These
are related to stress and time pressured situations. Sometimes, I am unable to
manage the time as I take too much responsibility than required that is why I
face problem to maintain balance between the actual and expected time which as
a result creates unfavourable conditions. Usually, I should have to use some
relaxation techniques to overcome this, but I don’t do.

Then I will go
with imagination means something new that will explore and transform the ideas
and a unique vision will create. Next to it, improvement is necessary to
increment, control process, and remove the problems. Finally, I will investment
resources such money, time, and efforts to achieve the goal, to get fast but
better response.

Personally,
Creativity is important to make every approach effective and to do so, first
incubation is necessary which means to be sustained or grow and it can be done
only if people of the city will involve, coordinate and work in a team which
will build trust and empower them.

Firstly, I will
define the problem and its acceptance with its actual causes. Secondly, I will
generate many alternative solutions for the same problems with the different
merits and demerits of each. Thirdly, I will evaluate the all solutions and
find out the best optimal solution for the problem. Finally, I will implement
that optimal solution and will follow up with feedback.

E) If I will be
the city manager of the city Fort St. John then I will solve the problem
analytically first and then creatively as problem should have clear view.

Proactive Strategy: It is way to increase
the overall capacity by increasing the personal resiliency of any person. These
strategies act as a resistance to the negative effects of stress.

Enactive Strategy: It is the the best way
to manage stress by eliminating stressors through creating a new environment
having no stressors.

For managing stress, there are three strategies:

 

3) Reactions: It includes the process such as
temporary relaxation techniques and contemplative practices through which the
stress can be reduced on temporary basis.

2) Resiliency: It is a capacity to tolerate the
negative effects of stress or difficulties which are produces due to stressors.
It can be behavior patterns, psychological characteristics, supportive social
relationships. These forces help to produce good interpersonal relationships
and emotional stability.

 

iv) Anticipatory Stressors: This stress is related due
to the fear and unpleasant expectations.

iii) Situational
Stressor: These are occurred due to the rapid change in surrounding environment
and unfavorable working conditions.

These can occur from the conflicts producing due to the roles, issues, and
actions.

i) Time stressor:
these are related to the work overload and lack of control.

awareness, enthusiasm, feelings, and genuine
involvement in interpersonal relationships. for middle managers, these skills
act as a bridge between the top management and the employees.

Skills: These are the abilities, tools, or knowledge to solve the problems in
any field. Many technical skills involve training as well as experience. For an
example”: if a salesman has good selling skills to solve the problem and
to achieve the target then he may be a good sales manager because of his
technical skills in sales.

Managers: Skills are the abilities that helps to convert the knowledge into the
required actions to achieve a goal.

It involves the steps to control the results against their goals and to do the
right efforts to achieve their goal.
