Just before the year 2017’s end on December 27th-New York Times published an article titled “THE LAST MAN TO SPEAK HIS LANGUAGE”.
Intutu Peru: Amedeo Garcia rushed up the river in his canoe, slipping in to the hidden booby-trapped camp where his brother Juan lay dying. Juan writhed in pain and shook uncontrollably as his fever rose, battling malaria. As Amedeo consoled him, the sick man muttered back in words that no one else on Earth understood. So my friends: Once upon a Time, words began to vanish from language of children. They disappeared so quietly that at first almost no one noticed-fading away like water on stone.
The words were those that children used to relate the natural world around them: words like-No thank you, Yes please or just a simple Hello and Goodbye, How are you, I Love You, all of them were…. well, all of them now gone! respect became an after-hours gesture, handshake an upper bodily dance, Mom and Dads-a one night stand and Grandparents-temporary junctures, The words were becoming lost: no longer vivid in children’s voices, no longer alive in their stories. And thus-the desire for perfection is killing the spontaneity and the life in our viewing eye, never mind the honesty in them. We’ve become so obsessed with the public sharing of our values and the fear that someone may spot a flaw, that we’re going to work ourselves into such a neurotic lather over sharing our lives-thus making our values become secondary, Forgetting “Life is made of so many What ifs and buts” and as our lives have got busier and busier-even our table manners have gone by the way side, and is no longer “Etiquette” We measure our life’s amenities in the cup of consumption.
As I approach my maturity age, I am constantly reminded that modernity is perplexing me because I’m from prehistoric times. As such, it points to one of the unavoidable problems of the now generation-namely the temptation to think that today’s behavioral standards have always been. Yet-such claimers are not willing to look at the differences between yesteryear and today.Yes-yesterday’s prehistoric men were taught at the earliest stage to not use physical violence against women for any reason. Yesteryear-even the lowest of lowdown men would not curse or use foul language to or in presence of women. To see a man sitting on a crowded bus or trolly car while a woman is standing used to be unthinkable. It was deemed common decency for a man to give up his seat for a woman or an elderly person.
But the now generation use foul language in front of-and often to-others and it’s not just the foul language, as they feel like that it is acceptable. The modern parental taking corrective action to misbehavior is to call for a “TIME OUT” in other words, what is being taught miscreants of all ages is that they can impose physical pain on others and not suffer physical pain themselves. You do remember-It was always considered a good idea to refrain from sexual intercourse until marriage or at least adulthood. Then the sexual revolution lessons of abstinence were ridiculed, considered passé and replaced with condoms, birth control pills and abortion. So now the out of wedlock childbirths are accepted a norm. The liberals and alike are now waging Wars on Traditions, Customs and Moral Values.
Many of today’s generations are counseled to accept that there are no Moral Absolutes, “instead-what’s moral and immoral”, personal opinion or what is or is not criminal. Customs, Traditions and Moral Values are those important thou-shalt-nots, such as thou shalt not murder, steal, or cheat. The importance of customs, traditions and moral values as a means of regulating behavior is that people behave themselves even if no ones watching.Have we become so micro expressionist that we no longer have the will to listen, and have we even forgotten our posture as how to represent ourselves and how we should be received-as nowadays designer clothing is the assumption of one’s character and posture.
And what happened to the art of conversation, balancing our listening, balancing our questions with answers so that to allow a natural conversation to flow but rather then to shut down conversations.”Politicize Psychotherapy of Political Theory” Understanding today’s political trends has become a challenging undertaking. The endeavors-unconvincing and without psychobabble-the roots of “political correctness”. The political proponents attributing their beliefs to psychological disorders has become a nasty little game with consequences that certainly should not be encouraged.”Change without conscious” have we become so robotic that we rid-ourselves from our own history so to move forward? Once up on a time-all humans alike were Nomadic and-if true-that history recourses itself, then the future of mankind ‘if any? would become Nomadic once again, perhaps in “The Outer-Space Colonies”…
.Gone with the wind is “the Drive-inn Movie Theatres” Yes-once part of America’s night life-were a heady mix of high school dates and high jinks were and a once quintessential of growing up in America. And yet again-we so silently approved every change, and I worry about that next progression move-that may include the catastrophic course of intervention and force liberation.
The goal of my writing was to connect the trajectory of our political culture, I abstracted the theory from illustrations so those whose readership is very different but which might benefit by sharing from other individuals-with perspectives of the issues that concerns us all. To my friend Peter F. who read “The Year 2017” as my personal lifelong documented experiences and thus not as how we view our world- perhaps a bit of miscalculation of the importance of “2 Degrees Of Separation” and how connected we are, whether by coincidence or design.Charles Dickens’ original 1843 story of Scrooge (A Christmas Carol-1951 Film) is a story of redemption. It is redemption without Jesus. But a story of redemption. It grabs the heart. We think if there is HOPE for a miserly misfit like Scrooge, there’s hope for us.
And there really is. Dickens didn’t hate Capitalism and neither do I, but he also didn’t appreciate it and neither do I. And the details of his story showed that Capitalism was beginning to make the life of then Englishmen much better. The slow, steady effects of compound of economic growth-but not the nowadays widespread fantastical scheming craze of Christmas in July.I had some ideas about writing the subject matters of my interest and in doing so I was aware that I may touch some emotions and perhaps controversies but that is expected. And maybe one of the reasons all the topics and concerns that surfaced so rapidly- may have been a chain reaction to most everyone’s emotions. Just like “Me-Too”.Therefore, with limited timetable to produce the best unedited documentary, I restricted my writing from continuous scripting and editing and attempted to produce an honest and just narrative.
I also found it crucial to include Historical recordings of the events that may have lend a hand transform 2017. I firmly believe this past year was conceived before its actual arrival and thus, many past events did lend a hand setting the standards for what we’ve experienced. In brief; The topic of our discussion required more than just the year’s documentation or the newsreel and events &/or a play-cast to fill-in the blanks. As so often most people read the headlines, the opening or ending statements and thus assume to conclude.
I do realize that each of us possess different viewpoints and present our perspectives based on our own experiences and values, which also differ from one another, no-better no-worst “just-different” and while refraining from any judgement, I merely hoped to open a dialogue and not the passage of personal messages. I do not need to constantly repeat that for most part-2017 has been an absolute controversial year, but as I have stated on several occasions each moment of our lives has a predecessor and this year was no exception.I merely documented a timetable of influential events and its players without exclusions-but by no means it should be considered an exclusive to my individuality. And I take no will representing or defending anyone or particular cause or just. No matter how bold in writing and archaic statuary. I am also a firm believer we are our own greatest “predecessor role-model”.Mohsen*** For the 9th year in a row “WHATEVER” has been chosen as the word of the year, kid you not
