I remember the first time I heard “The Climb” like it wasyesterday, I was in my car listening to the radio and the song “the climb” cameon.
I thought to myself that I loved thebeat and thought to my self that thelyrics are amazing. The song the climb means different things to differentpeople for me it’s a way to express how I feel. The song touched me in a deepway. This song tells exactly how I feel about reaching my goals. I am personwho sometimes has a hard time explaining how exactly what I mean in words and thissong took the words straight from my mouth. Music tells the story when I failto use the words. I connect to this song because I personally relate to this song because it talks about theprocess and journey of reaching a dream. During the course oflife, you will face many struggles and challenges.
Your mind may tell to giveup. The people around may want you to give up and there will be times in your life where you fill your mindconstantly telling you to give up. The “climb” shown me that it is importantduring these times to remember why you wanted those dreams in the first place. You must be able to fight and keeping fighting for your dreams even when youfeel like quitting. Once you overcome setbacks and obstacles, you will be facedwith more. “Mountains” are referred in the song “The climb” they representobstacles in life that hinder you from your dream. The mountains are there tohelp you grow.
The stronger you become, the bigger the mountains you climb. Thebigger the mountains, the bigger the dreams you can pursue. The more challengesyou face the bigger the possibilities for your life.
When I was a highschool sophomore, my grandfather was diagnosed with ALS and we didn’t know howlong he would have to live. I would listen to the song “the climb” for comfort. This song-represented strength for me in a time that I needed it.I did not knowhow important this song would become in my life. The climb provided me with comfort because it’san song about reaching your dreams even when obstacles are thrown in your way.
My grandfather being diagnosed with ALS was devastating for me. The verse”sometimes you gonna have to lose” relates to my situation with my grandfatherbecause it represents that you will have setbacks in reaching your dream in life. When I was in high school I never knew what career I wanted to pursue. This wasuntil my grandfather passed away from ALS. This was when I chose to be a nurseand this is my ultimate goal in life or my biggest dream. I relate to the song”the climb” because for me it means reaching your highest goals in life. For me this would be ultimate dream of becoming anurse. I know there will be times where I feel like quitting.
There will bemany obstacles that are thrown in my way. The point is there will be hard timesand good times. I think the meaning of “the climb “is about never giving up andmoving forward. The verse “ain’t about how fast I get there” means that it isabout the journey that leads to your Dream. The experiences you face in lifeshape who you are. The quote “there’salways gonna be another Mountain; I’m always going to make it move” is statingthat obstacles will always come up in our lives and will try to knock us down. The quote “Keep your faith” is important to me because I believe it isimportant to me that God is a part of my journey in reaching my goals. We needfaith in ourselves but we need confidence to help us get through life.
“The Climb shows me that there will be times where peopledoubt us and we doubt ourselves. If you let your losses stop, you from tryingto succeed you will not get anywhere. You have to stand stronger every day youfall and one day it will pay off.
The song also mentions that we should not letthe time we arrive be the goal and it does not matter how fast we achieve thegoal but is about “The Climb” to the top of the mountain or our journey towardsa goal because that is when we learn from our mistakes. The struggles andchances we take in life may knock us down but we should not let that break usbut it should make us into stronger people in the long run. The song mentionswe should keep pushing ourselves and someday we will get to the top of themountain.
This song relates to our self-esteem because the way we viewourselves definitely affects the way our lives will turn out. If we think lowof ourselves and we don’t believe that we can accomplish our goals, then itwon’t happen. The song “The Climb” inspires me to learn that there will bechallenges in our lives but they are there to help us learn and becomestronger.
