curtain to be on and off in day or night time. Moreover, the environmental
control system can be integrated in the smart housing system. In the past few
decades smart housing became more popular. The main advantage over the other
systems is the ability to monitor actions inside the house and take automatic
actions. Smart housing changed the way we think of homes and their internal
management. This paper analyzes the smart technology in housing considering its
benefits and flaws.

is a collective term for information and communication technology used in

Internet. So it simply means a residence that has appliances, lighting,
heating, air conditioning, TVs, computers, entertainment audio & video

how will they benefit from the system and how can smart housing be integrated
in different housing projects to enhance and modernize them.

Case study (the Norwegian smart housing project:
This project was part of the
health insurance and health care system. The purpose was to emphasize safety
and independence for the elder and the disabled as well as enhancing the quality
of health services with reasonable costs. The smart system was integrated in
their existing houses which differ from building a new home with smart system.
The system depends on sensors and surveillance to manage the life of the
resident. An example of how does smart housing help the healthcare service
provider and user is at a time of sudden medical emergency. The senior bed is
optimized with sensors and the bedroom with surveillance system so when the
senior leaves the bed at night and if a certain medical emergency happened then
the system identifies that he is gone for a long period and alerts the
authorities to provide help. This can help the authorities by minimizing the
false alarm preparation for some incidents and raises the quality of the
service. In that project the smart system was useful in supporting independence
in life as well as enhancing the municipal services.
The advantages of the project for the user are Advantages for the user
are increased safety and increased independence. The advantages for the
municipalities are improved quality of services, improved working conditions
for employees and financial benefits. This project proved that the financing
system contribute to the establishment of the technological infrastructure.
