AbstractPalm reading has very deep roots in Indianastrology and Roman fortune-telling. It is practiced all over the world.The objective is to evaluate a person’s character orfuture by studying the palm of their hand. Basically palm reading is used toread about the character traits of a person. Palm reading is equally beneficialfor the medical field people. Palm reading has gained importance in detectingabout the disease a human is suffering from. Currently, there is a lack of mobile applications that allow palmreading to be done automatically and efficiently. This study aims at developingan application which could be run as an mobile application which aims atdeveloping an effective algorithm.
Automatic Palm reading isa mobile application which uses fuzzy logic and data interpretation for theprediction of health related status and about the person’s behavior. Our palm reading algorithm uses imageprocessing operations like an adaptive thresholding approach to segment thepalm image from the background, extract the fingers and calculate their length,extract the three principal palm lines in which regression is applied toproduce connected and continuous palm lines. Based on the information gatheredfrom the palm lines, our application predicts health related information like whetherthe person is suffering or has symptoms leading to heart disease, lung disease,etc.

It is also calledChiromancy. Palmistry is not only used to read one’s hand or palm ,it isalso used for reading of arm , finger and fingernail. By analysing one’s handor palm, finger, fingernail, arm we are able to discover about the charactertraits, health, wisdom, marriage and many other aspects of a person.Now-a-dayspeople prefer investing time in mobile applications. Currently, there are lackof mobile applications that allow palm reading to be done efficiently.

Automatic Palm Reading is a mobile application which will be used tolearn a person’s fortune , future and personality. Automatic Palm Reading is based on Androidplatform. Medical World is greatly influenced by the palm reading.
The design,implementation, and use of biomedical information systems in the form ofcomputer – aided decision support have become essential and widely usedover the last two decades. Medical scientists discovered that the hand can beused as an indicator for medical problems and the palm is the reflection ofactivities going on brain. The purpose of this application is to design andimplement a decision support model for healthcare on the basis of medicalpalmistry to diagnose the diseases.The algorithm starts with capturing of the palm image and extracting theprinciple palm lines. Various image processing techniques like histogramequalization, sharpening, masking, removing noise, etc. are applied on theinput images to get a clear sharpened image without noise. This helps in theextraction of the palm lines.
The palm linesprovide patterns that can be compared to past findings in predicting theillnesses. . Fuzzy InferenceSystem is used to present medical knowledge as network diseases connected witheach other by logical relations. Thisis beneficial for observing illnesses as it saves time and effort and providesinsights on further studies of the person’s health.
The rest of the paper isstructured into 7 sections. In section 2 and 3, literature review of therelated work is presented. In section 4, the proposed methodology is presentedand details regarding the algorithm to be used is explained. In section 5, therequirements are specified. In section 6, the future work and finally insection 7 conclusion has been included.
